Guidelines for Workplace First Aid Kits
First-aid supplies are to be made available to all employees on every job as specified by Cal/OSHA [Title 8, California Code of Regulations, Section 3400(c)]. Provided below are University guidelines for workplace first aid kits.
GUIDELINES:
(1) Approved* first-aid supplies shall be readily available to all employees on every job (including off-hour/ weekend shifts).
(2) First-aid supplies shall be kept in a sanitary and usable condition.
(3) First-aid supplies shall be inspected frequently and replenished as necessary.
*APPROVED FIRST AID KIT:
Contents of first aid kits shall be the same or equivalent to the specific example recommended by the Stanford University Occupational Health Center below. NOTE: For construction-related operations, contact EH&S- Occupational Health Center at x5-5308 for additional recommendations.
