Overview

Electrical Safety Awareness is an introductory course covering general precautions on the use of electrically-powered equipment made by a reputable equipment-manufacturer. Upon completion, individuals will be able to: 1) Identify common electrical hazards and how to mitigate them, 2) Demonstrate safe use of extension cords and power strips, and 3) Know how to respond to electrical emergencies. Additional training is required for researchers working with lasers and if there is potential to be exposed to energized conductors of 50 volts or greater.
