If you are hurt at work

Determine the extent of your injury or illness and seek appropriate medical attention.
Inform your supervisor and call the Occupational Health Center at (650) 725-5308 as soon as the condition permits.
Complete the incident report to document the injury, illness, or close call event.

Get Immediate Help For Work Related Conditions

Call SUOHC if between 8:00am-5pm M-F at (650) 725-5308, for immediate phone triage and to schedule urgent drop-in appointment time.
When SUOHC is closed, go to the Stanford University Medical Center Emergency Department.
As soon as you arrive at 484 Oak Rd, let the employee at the reception desk know you’re here for an urgent appointment.
1. Bring any medications you have taken for the problem.
Examples of Urgent Conditions
1. Although the examples listed below may not be life threatening, get medical evaluation at SUOHC as soon as possible if you experience any of the following symptoms:
  1. Any acute injury with significant pain or swelling
  2. Possible fracture or dislocation
  3. Animal bite, including non-human primate bite
  4. Needlestick or splash to mucous membrane of blood or potentially infectious body fluid
  5. Acute exposures to workplace hazards (chemicals, laser, radiation)

Examples of Non-urgent Symptoms / Problem
1. Sprains/Strains
2. Ache or pain you have had for several weeks
3. Bruises/scrapes
4. Minor cuts
5. Minor burns
6. Allergies (without difficulty breathing)
