Author of Steven Spielberg: A Life in Films (Yale Jewish Lives), film critic and author MOLLY HASKELL will join Eitan Kensky, the Reinhard Family Curator of Hebraica and Judaica at Stanford Libraries and director of REWIND: The Shenson Retrospective Film Series to discuss JAWS, Jews, and the oceans that unite and divide us.
This event is in conjunction with Stanford Global Studies Annual Summer Film Festival. The lineup of films this year revolves around the theme of “the oceans that unite us and divide us.” This event also serves as a sort of coda to the 22-23 year of REWIND, whose theme last year was “Jews & Genre.” It is also a fitting introduction to this year’s REWIND theme, “Creation,” by considering Steven Spielberg’s creative process.
