EH&S Medical Physicist Jia Wang, AAPM Achievement

Recently, Jia Wang Ph.D., DABR, Medical Physicist at Stanford University EH&S received a notable recognition from the Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics for an article he co-authored with Medical Physicists from across the country entitled AAPM medical physics practice guideline 6.a.: Performance characteristics of radiation dose index monitoring systems.  The Journal stated that Jia’s article was one of the top 10 most downloaded papers in the past 12 months.  The purpose of this article is to provide guidance on critical functions of patient radiation dose monitoring systems that are increasingly adopted by many imaging service departments in hospitals across the U.S.  Dr. Wang contributed his experience in implementing one such system in use at Stanford Hospital and Clinics for managing CT and interventional procedure patient radiation doses.
