The Stanford University Fire Marshal’s Office (SUFMO) is committed to providing comprehensive support for construction and renovation projects across various Stanford locations, including the main campus, Hopkins Marine Station, SAL 3 in Livermore, CA, and selected projects in the adjacent Research Park in Palo Alto, CA, predominantly occupied by Stanford academic staff.
Note: SUFMO does not support projects involving Stanford Hospital and clinics, Lucille Packard Hospital and clinics, Redwood City Campus or SLAC facilities except by special request.
Project services provided:
- General support of construction projects
- Code consultation for potential future projects
- Repair, replacement, or shutdown of Fire Protection equipment (Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler or Fire Extinguishers)
- Chemical Inventory Analysis: Maximum Allowable Quantities Report
To request SUFMO services in supporting a construction or maintenance project:
IF project funding is established: Submit Work Request and attach the Form1 (where one has been issued) for the project.
IF project funding is not yet established: Submit Smartsheet form to have a Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) assigned to support the project or address project questions. Submit a work request once funding is established; only one work request per project is required
