SUFMO Project Support

The Stanford University Fire Marshal’s Office (SUFMO) is committed to providing comprehensive support for construction and renovation projects across various Stanford locations, including the main campus, Hopkins Marine Station, SAL 3 in Livermore, CA, and selected projects in the adjacent Research Park in Palo Alto, CA, predominantly occupied by Stanford academic staff.   

Note:  SUFMO does not support projects involving Stanford Hospital and clinics, Lucille Packard Hospital and clinics, Redwood City Campus or SLAC facilities except by special request.

Project services provided:

  • General support of construction projects
  • Code consultation for potential future projects
  • Repair, replacement, or shutdown of Fire Protection equipment (Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler or Fire Extinguishers)
  • Chemical Inventory Analysis: Maximum Allowable Quantities Report

To request SUFMO services in supporting a construction or maintenance project:

IF project funding is established: Submit Work Request and attach the Form1 (where one has been issued) for the project.

IF project funding is not yet establishedSubmit Smartsheet form to have a Fire Protection Engineer (FPE) assigned to support the project or address project questions.  Submit a work request once funding is established; only one work request per project is required
